Anointing at Mass

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is one of the seven Sacraments of the Church. Any member of the Catholic faithful who is in danger of death, becomes seriously ill, is injured or is suffering from a decline due to advanced age is encouraged to receive this Sacrament. One need not be at the point of death.

For example, one ought to request this Sacrament before undergoing serious surgery or any procedure where there may be some risk either because of advanced age or because of the serious nature of the procedure.

The Sacrament can be repeated, even during the same illness, when the illness is prolonged or when it becomes more serious.

Twice a year, the Sacrament will be offered in church during a special Anointing Mass.

There will be opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 10:15 – 10:45.
Requests for the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick can be made at any time. If you wish to be anointed, or if you have questions about this Sacrament, please call Fr. Tom Wilson or Fr. Chad VanHoose at 952-469-4481.
In case of an emergency, please contact the parish as soon as possible. Outside of office hours, callers can access an after-hours operator who will contact one of the priests.
