when me and my brothers were young one day we were helping my mom helping my mom at church and we're getting in the way so much that eventually upset with us separated us all throughout the church and she had my brother Peter stay in the Adoration Chapel now when she had the time to kind of calm down a little bit she came to get us all when she got my brother he was kneeling there before the Blessed Sacrament and my mom went to get him and Bring Em Out he said wait Jesus is there we're talkin and my brother recognize something very interesting to White it means have Jesus present in the Eucharist namely that Jesus their invites us into a relationship because Jesus is truly present in that host so that whenever we see him there he can give us Grace whenever we that host he can transform us no anytime that a priest says the words this is my body this is my blood over the bread the wine the Whos things no longer are things instead they become Jesus Christ very interesting to see Christ made present in the Eucharist transforms lives because Christ we all know became man he was divine what's God and he still is God but he chose to help us by becoming one of us and when he became one of us he suffered for us he died for us he rose again for us so you could have chosen to stay that way simply risen again but he didn't want to Simply wander around the world end have us go and visit him know he wanted a deeper relationship so he ascended into heaven and as part of that Ascension made it possible for us to receive him in the Eucharist give me the possible so that we could receive him into the depths of our souls is when we receive Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist he dwells more deeply within us he draws us more deeply in love with him when we see him in the Eucharist we experience is radiant love for all of us he transforms us when we receive him when we look at him in the UK when we spend time with him at Mass and when we receive him he deepens our virtue and he deepens our love Brothers and for ourselves in the Catholic church we talked about the Eucharist as the source and Summit of our faith we mean that Jesus Christ as God is the source of our faith he gives us everything we could ever need physically and spiritually gives us all that week desire is the source of life now when we take a step and look at the cross when Christ was crucified and the soldier took the Lansing pierced his side out came to things water and blood both of these things are seen as necessary for the church water representing baptism those first Grace is given to each of us I'm having our sin wiped Away by that water Christ the father and the Holy Spirit dwell deeply within us and us being welcomed into the Church addition to that there wasn't just water that came out of the side of Christ but there was also blood and this Blood representative of the Eucharist it's in that blood that we receive Christ fully human fully divine and in that blood we are transformed so that's the source that we talked about the UK as both the source in the summit The Summit being that which we strive for we strive to emulate cry in the Eucharist in all humility giving of himself entirely for us we're called when we received to change within ourselves so that we self gift again to give ourselves to God and others now through these two baptism and the Eucharist we are drawn more deeply into the Divine Life of God that Divine Life when we enter in we enter into the exchange of Love within the trinity Christ gives us his life so that way we can step in his place and experience that same love to the point where we are then called Sons and Daughters of God this isn't there any work that we've done reaching this Summit is not anything that we have done of our own accord instead it is simply a receiving of the grace of God in the sacraments and especially the Eucharist now in the Eucharist when we receive it we experience a deep wound and this comes from again that relationship we have with God that when we receive the Eucharist we are drawn more deeply into that trinitarian that relationship we are in fact unified more deeply not just with God but with those around us like spokes on a wheel Christ in the Eucharist is at the center and when we were even we are drawn closer to him and as others receive him we all are drawn closer to that Center that reception that draws us closer to the center in fact draws us all closer to each other creating not just any human Unity that we could have in a community but it a deeper sense of community o a spiritual union with God and with others now this Union isn't simply meant to be a wonderful Kumbaya moment just sitting there and all enjoying each other's love it's meant bring out action change from within us to take that love that spiritual reality that we experience when we receive the Eucharist and let that changes from within and change how we Act towards ourselves towards God and towards other people how to shift gears real quick let's look at the Eucharist itself and how it goes from being simply Bread and Wine and how becomes Jesus Christ when at Mass the priest into his hands the species of bread and wine the things and says over them the words of consecration this is my body this is my blood those things change change we noticed what are called accidents change these are here wheat color things like that for me when I was born is very different from how I am now right I was not 6 feet when I was born and I'm sure my mother is very grateful for that so as time has gone on I've grown I'm 6 feet now right pretty sure that I did not weigh the same now as I did back then again mother's very grateful and so what we see there is that the substance father Gifford really hasn't changed but my accidents have my height my weights again we look at trees during the seasons trees grow out trees bloom they have their leaves those leaves change with temperature and sunshine it's renewed again and again and again these changes don't change the fact that that's tree those are only accidental changes about the substance trees face however there's one exception to this general rule and that is transubstantiation a big word that means that it's a type of chain where the accident stay the same but the substance changes and this only happens in the consecration of the Eucharist where the bread has the same way it's still taste Bland it's still pretty dry still small still usually a creamy color but the substance itself no longer bread but Jesus Christ there the same goes for the wine and now there's an interesting principle that just as we know Christ divinity out of his divine nature became man he took on everything that it meant to be human being and as such whenever he is made present anyway he is present as his entire self body blood soul and Divinity so whether it is the smallest crumb of the Eucharist or the smallest drop of the Eucharist that looks like wine we have the fullness of Jesus Christ the entirety of his blood is human body human soul he's entire divine nature this is what transforms us this is what changes us every time we receive the Eucharist we are plunged more deep into the laws of God we are invited more deeply into a relationship with him but that relationship change us
