imagine we are all in the upper room with us is Mary and the 11 apostles we are all gathered around I'm too trusting God not to be afraid of the Roman soldiers and the Pharisees who are still trying to figure out who killed Jesus and who stole his body and if they are going to find us sitting in this room as we are waiting in this darkened room we have a lot of time for reflection we are conversing about the words of Jesus many thoughts run through our heads what are the things that we recall which happened about two months ago was when we witnessed the horrific passion and death of Jesus who came to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of the Passover and ended up seen Jesus of Nazareth crucified by the Romans in the supper-room we recall the Jesus died fast and the fears of the Pharisees now it is us who are afraid in the upper room our conversation evolves from the horror of the crucifixion to the joys Jesus now alive how excited we are to hear the news about Jesus being raised from the dead we continue to ponder and wonder about this miracle this miracle that will change our lives forever we can hardly believe he's alive we toilet links about how we felt and when we were with Jesus who is now alive artist pictures of full of excitement and joy at being with Jesus once again still pondering these things in the upper room lyric all our hearts were satin just 10 days ago when he ascended into the sky back to his father why did he have to go where is he Jesus left us and we don't understand why we are here alone but he kept reminding us that he would fulfill his promise to us there is hope in his voice we are still confused as we often were when Jesus spoke Parables and veiled phrases Jesus promised that he would send us an advocate what does he mean he must leave so that the advocate can be with us always what does mean that the advocate will remind us of all that he has told us in the supper-room we reminisce how we were with him for three joyful years Jesus with us and taught us and taught us how to pray oh how we long to be with Jesus and we miss him we are fully aware of the large crowds that come from every nation they have gathered here in Jerusalem for the Feast of Weeks when we commemorate when God gave us the Torah now the upper room is still and suddenly we hear a strong wind swirling in the upper room what is going on there is a flame a ton of fire in the room with us both fear and excitement rushed into our hearts the flame Parts into smaller flames and now rest on each one of us what is happening our hearts are filled with joy and it's Wegmans we are filled with boldness then with no warning our conversation is in different languages when I was speaking in multiple different language about the life of Jesus we tell the story of Jesus from the prophets of the Torah from Abraham Moses Isaiah and King David we are now seeing them in the languages of the people outside behind the doors of this Upper Room These Wings of Fire have given us new languages boldness and courage we feel how to tell someone to tell everyone we want to tell the crowds who have come from many countries about Jesus about Jesus life and Ministry and his resurrection to tell others how he taught us about the father to tell how he felt he owed us and fed us and lived with us and that every day that we were with him peace it's starting to make sense that Jesus needed to leave us so he can send his Spirit to be with each one of us we can stop being imagining that were in the upper room we can leave the upper room with boldness because the Holy Spirit compels us to share the good news of Jesus to everyone the holy spirit gives us joy the holy spirit gives us Eternal hope with the Holy Spirit the scriptures come alive and we are able to understand them because the whole East Garrett we have meaningful Direction in our lives do you ever wonder where the holy spirit is he's always with us when we were back what is the name of the father Son and Holy Spirit we received a permanent mark on our souls we are Christ children many of our young people recently received formation and were sealed with the Holy Spirit another permanent mark the holy spirit is always with us he dwells within us we are temples of the Holy Spirit in our Creed we stayed our believe I believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the father and the son the holy spirit is truly always with us father will be calling down the Holy Spirit over our Gifts of bread and wine and we will share in the Life of Christ SD go about your daily life at work and vacation in every Aaron we have the Holy Spirit alive in us and we bring the Holy Spirit into every situation we bring the Holy Spirit into every conversation every action every thought we feel compelled to tell someone to tell everyone without the hole Spirits we have no life in us but with the Holy Spirit we have the life of Jesus without the Holy Spirit we become closed in but with the Holy Spirit Week reach out in mission to others without the Holy Spirit we return to that Upper Room in fear and anxiety but with the Holy Spirit we leave the upper room and witness about Jesus to the ends of the Earth let us pray today for our cells and the entire church that we may all be renewed by the power of the play spirit
