Little Flowers & Blue Knights

What is it?

Little Flowers Girls’ Club® is a Catholic club for girls and up that teaches virtues through Scripture, Saints’ biographies and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Based on the 1906 Catholic classic “The Catholic Girls’ Guide” by Fr. F.X. Lasance, and the spirituality of St. Thérése, the Little Flower of Lisieux, this beautiful, authentically Catholic program, has delighted and instilled in our girls a love of our Catholic Faith for over 25 years.

Little Flowers Girls’ Club® program at All Saints consists of three years of study: Wreaths I, II, and III. Each Wreath of study consists of nine virtues each.  Meetings are held once a month during the school year, September through May.

Like a scouting program, girls earn badges for the virtues they have practiced, life skills they have learned. But unlike most scouting organizations, the girls learn and earn their badges through a distinctly Catholic lens. This Catholic-to-the-Core program relies on the lives of the Saints, Sacred Scripture, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Sashes, aprons, bandanas, t-shirts and other items are extras that add to the experience, but are optional for participants.

The Blue Knights Catholic Club is a boys’ club aimed at teaching the truths of the Catholic faith to boys through Scripture, saints’ biographies, games, crafts and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Based on the popular Little Flowers Girls’ Club, this program developed by retired Marine, theologian and Catholic author, Dan McGuire maps out nine virtues for boys ages 5 and up in the first year, and then follows up with four years covering nine catechetical lessons each.

The club guides include lessons in the Faith, activities, saints’ biographies, suggested talks, craft ideas and game suggestions. If you desire a more encompassing program, extra badges and service medals can be earned through activities encouraging a Catholic world view.
