the next thing that parents our parents are the first evangelists catechists and the line to fill in is the word liturgists the first liturgists evangelist just means you tell him the good news which we'll talk about it later and catechist the word cataclean comes in true big words to put together mean to echo down can we get all but we like to call it Franciscan University the categories like catechumen catechetical catechism catechism innate right all the cat Awards catechist they all come from that Greek word which means to echo down if the word the early church chose to very accurately Express what a catechist does an echo is something you don't add to and you don't subtract from right which is that goes that's what a catechist roll is they don't add anything to the truth they don't subtract anything the Oculus at the word the church chose in Ancient of Days to reflect what a catechist job was they are the echo of Christ and so that's simple role being a catechist doesn't mean textbook a teaching give means you live your life in such a way that whatever crisis that is true you yourself live is true the echo whatever the church mother Church says is so you live is town the echo Simplicity of heart simple Trust the liturgist we're just not in some fancy degreed way but you're the first one write a parent is the first one to address the fidget Ennis it Mass when they're itsy bitsy or maybe not so itsy bitsy if you have a hyperactive one you're the first ones to say something long before a teacher gets to them something to address what it means to attend the sacred parents they all kind of things right some parents of course feed their children quiet whatever but you have that roll you had that privilege role that no one else will beat you to that that moment maybe many many moments in mass as they grow up what is it that you will say when they be begin to relate to where they are remember my wife many many times for the six kids that were raising so far you know until they can kind of come to my arms when they were a little bit older you know they were mom kids and she would be with him in mass and and she would have in there and teach him the very earliest things before they're needing these could reach the dealer with her head still above the edge she would draw their attention to the Eucharist and she would whisper those words is it only a chief liturgist only apparently her just can do the simple words at the time of the consecration there's Jesus that's a litter just doing their work right there the first one to teach them where they are when they're in the sacred liturgy some have the opinion very erroneously children should not be present at sacred liturgy is mass in any way they should be kind of like a way somewhere else to parents alone can come to church by themselves or sort of worship sincerely without the fidgety kids around them but remember liturgy as it is with most of you beloved a liturgy is a slow bake the grown up gradually in a child's soul is grown up when the parents of the very youngest ages are their gradual and very gently teaching them why they were there over many years and the attention lacking that that causes an us for what we are present there for the distraction that it causes the parent that what you offer up in those ears at the masked lord I can't bring to you because of X fidgeter here I can bring to my perfect attention to the homily to the readings but I can give you a offer up to you my desire to do so I can offer up to you my desire to serve this soul and giving up that for you I can offer that to you in this mess and that's what I offer up you in these ears that's my gift to you in a liturgy is my distraction like inability to pay attention to you first liturgy
