I can't wait to tell father Wilson and feather Tim that all of the singers from All Saints came to this I'm just blown away by your singing and buy your participating tonight so praise God that you're here I'm definitely going to rub it that I got all the singers at the mass I celebrated when I was growing up I would visit Graves not with my family you know every year we visit the graves of my grandparents of our loved ones would past and this taught me a lot as a little kid taught me about respect and reverence for our ancestors for my grandparents it taught me that something isn't quite finished with death you see we would visit Grandma and Grandpa's Ray's and I knew that they were there at least their body was there but I knew that they weren't completely there there was this mystery that we would visit their graves we would respect them and honor them but that wasn't the end of the story that there was something where to come  and then last year when I was able to travel to Jerusalem with my classmates I had the opportunity what is it two more tunes tutus in Jerusalem itself the Tomb of Jesus and the tomb of Mary put these terms were different than the graves that I visited as a kid the graves of my grandparents because these Tunes these graves are empty there's nothing there there aren't any bones there aren't any names of Jesus there aren't any remains in their Tunes because they're not there points to two great dog measure three daughters really of our faith first with the Tomb of Jesus we seeing that the tune points to the dogma of the resurrection and the Ascension of Jesus it's a Concrete example of this Dogma for us and the empty tomb of Mary points to that mystery we celebrate today Mary's Assumption into heaven where her son ascended Mary was assumed body and soul and a church believed the faithful believe this for hundreds and hundreds for thousands of years until it was solemnly declared in the 20th Tree by Pope Pius the 12th that marry at the end of her Earthly Journey was assumed into heaven Body and Soul I don't think we get how great this mystery is  that Jesus and Mary are not here bodily with us anymore that there are two persons in heaven Body and Soul in sold bodies they have gone where we hope to go brothers and sisters and we see this mystery throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament  we see particularly in a readings today first in the gospel from Mary visits her cousin her kinswoman Elizabeth and what does Mary bring Mary drinks Jesus hear the mother of God visits her relative and so both are there the mother and the Sun the sign of the New Covenant Jesus who is that new covenant and the ark that Tavern Skol containing the Covenant at the visitation  and what do we hear in the Book of Revelation Omar first reading today mother and son are here again but no longer on Earth they're in heaven I love this opening line from Revelation God's temple in heaven was opened and the Ark of his covenant could be seen in Temple  who is the Ark of God's covenant  Mary Mary's given that full name that we receive from the Old Testament the Ark of the Covenant that bearer of Christ that bearer of the Covenant that we all playing she is the ark and here when God temple in heaven is thrown open their the woman stands giving birth to the sun giving birth to this Covenant  Jesus has taken his mother where he has gone before her and brother listen sisters this gives us the church the church waiting in anticipation on Earth this gives the church ho  you see Mary has gone to heaven that means human kind has gone to heaven this is huge for our race it's bigger than when man landed on the you see Neil Armstrong landed on the moon right none of us did but we can say that man human plane landed on the moon mankind has stepped foot on the Moon even greater can we hey human kind man woman has gone before us into heaven this we have the capacity to go to heaven that Mary has been assumed means that we can go to heaven that man has gone to the moon this gives any man the capacity to go to the moon so brothers and sisters fees that we celebrate today is a feast of great hope because we're Mary has gone we hope to assume one day as well body and soul in sold body persons that we would celebrate and rejoice forever in the Kingdom with Jesus with Mary and all the saints so today we honor Mary and we ask for her prayers as we ask for the prayers of all the next have gone before us that we would enjoy that blessed hope that beatitude of seeing Jesus face-to-face forever
