Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick at Mass
During the Season of Lent and in the fall, the Sacrament is offered in church during a special Anointing Mass.

anointingThe Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is one of the seven Sacraments of the Church. Any member of the Catholic faithful who is in danger of death becomes seriously ill, is injured, or is suffering from a decline due to advanced age is encouraged to receive this Sacrament. One need not be at the point of death.

For example, one ought to request this Sacrament before undergoing serious surgery or any procedure where there may be some risk either because of advanced age or because of the serious nature of the procedure.

The Sacrament can be repeated, even during the same illness, when the illness is prolonged or when it becomes more serious. Requests for the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick can be made at any time. If you wish to be anointed, or if you have questions about this Sacrament, please call 952.469.4481 and ask for one of the priests.

In case of an emergency, please contact the parish as soon as possible. Outside of office hours, callers can access an after-hours operator who will contact one of the priests.
