today's feast is all about hope is often the most overlooked virtue in the Christian Life a to z z I believe this I believe that all these sorts of things I believe God exists all that charity love again that's easy love your neighbor mindworks do good and love God hope is a little bit more vague cope is a trusting and longing for the goodness of God I trusting in the goodness of God but he is good he is love do you mix a generous promises and offers Jenner offers generous Mercy to us and out of his goodness he will keep those promises trust in the goodness of God but then there's also confidence cuz when we trust in the goodness of God we have this longing we heard it in our response in the psalm is longing to see the face of God this long to be with him forever because he is good is the greatest good and when we are with him we will leave forever pure happiness every desire that we could ever imagine being fulfilled so we have is Trust and this longing we see it only fulfilled Here and Now partially but we do see it partially Here and Now we can see in our own lives where we have turned away from sin and turned towards God in doing that we can have confidence that we are on the right path this is one major way the Catholics and Protestants diverge Protestants say that you can be justified by faith alone and in that have confidence that I am saved by faith alone I know it Catholics we say that we can have confidence in our Salvation not by faith Spotify hope yes we are justified by faith but justification is not the end of the road sanctification comes next once we are Justified we have to accept that justification we have to work with the grace of God in our lives to say no to sin and yes to him it is when we see this evidence in our lives that we can have confidence of Hope and we see this played out to the Beatitudes Our Gospel blessed are the meek the poor in spirit blessed are you when you are persecuted for the sake of Christmas when we see these play out in our lives that gives us hope because we are not simply doing it for ourselves we are doing it for God he is the source of Our Hope and it's goal today the Feast of all Saints we see this hope fulfilled for others where they have reached the point where they reach the final goal of Hope perfect union in eternal life with God Saints Peter and Paul James John Thomas the apostles medieval Saints like Hildegard Saint Thomas Aquinas modern Saints like Pope John the second treasure vasu Maximilian Kolbe and all of those Saints we do not know those quiet humble Meek men and who have lived their lives on the edge of society and on the edge of History today we remember them all four they have reached the goal of Hope their confidence and trust and longing fulfilled their desire reaching final and complete happiness we should learn from their examples of how they lived on this Earth living life in confidence of Hope and so today let us take stock in those ways where we have said no to sin and yes to God let us leave from this desire that we will one day in Eternal happiness Body and Soul with God our Father
