Deacon Alan Nicklaus

With much delight, I have been assigned to All Saints Catholic Church, beginning Jan. 2018. I was ordained in Dec. 2017 and look forward to proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Brief Bio

As the oldest four children, I was raised in South Minneapolis and married Anne Marie in 1996. We have been blessed with five children and have been living in Burnsville since 2006. My Catholic upbringing in the 70’s was at Resurrection Catholic School which is now our Lady of Peace and my home parish where my family serves today.

At an early age, my family joined the People of Praise, a Christian Ecumenical Community of which I am a member of today. The People of Praise has been a tremendous support to my family, and me especially in the time of discernment and formation for the diaconate.

Anne, my wife of 21 years and I have five children: Cecilia, Maria, Thomas, John Paul, and Joseph, ranging in ages 10 to 20 years.  We homeschool our children until they are old enough to attend Trinity School, an Ecumenical Christian school with a classical curriculum.  It has been a delight to learn about my Catholic faith along with my children who study the teachings of the Church at Trinity School.
Interesting Facts

I enjoy teaching my children my hobbies of homemade wine making, (a 4th generation tradition from Germany), coin collecting, deer hunting and gardening.

A Favorite Scripture or Spiritual Quote
I often joke with my hungry, food-devouring teenagers that my favorite Bible verse is 2 Thes. 3:10 “While we were with you, we gave this order: ‘If anyone doesn’t want to work, he shouldn’t eat.’”
But more fitting, I love Psalm 51 “Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love...”

Blessings,

Deacon Alan
