A Big THANK YOU from the Vicar General
How can I put into words my feelings of gratitude for your very, very, very generous gift to me of a new car? And if that were not enough, you blessed me with a fantastic reception complete with a video presentation of my life, presented me with a beautiful Book of the Gospels featuring the unique artwork of the Saint John’s Bible, and showered me with many other individual cards and gifts. It was a veritable deluge of affection, and you left me speechless.
My hope has been to send thank you notes to each of you who blessed me with a card and gift … a hope that will take more time to complete than I first realized. My new job as Moderator and Vicar General is quite challenging. I am now in my third week, and am still trying to figure out how to juggle the wide variety of demands on my time and abilities. This past week I also started my ministry as Pastor at Saint Andrew’s parish in Saint Paul, celebrating my first weekend of Masses on July 5-6.
For those who are curious about the car, I will tell you that, thanks to you, I am now able to move about the Archdiocese in safety, comfort, and style: with your generous gift I purchased a 2007 Buick LaCrosse (see the attached photo). Every time I get into my new car,
I think of All Saints, and my feelings of gratitude are increased.
