Welcome to the All Saints Community Garden Page!
All Saints Parishioners,
I am very excited to announce an upcoming trial opportunity for all gardeners!!! There is a new All Saints Community Garden starting up at All Saints! Our mission is to build our All Saints community through gardening by creating a space for people to come together to grow food and flowers, and to share gardening techniques and recipes. We are looking for people within the All Saints Parish Community who are interested in starting a garden.
Your plot can measure
- 10 ft. X 10 ft. (for $25.00) or
- 10 ft. X 15 ft.(for $35.00) or
- 10 ft. X 20ft. (for $45.00) for the growing year.
The growing year is from May 15th to October 23rd 2010.
- Included in the fee is: plot rental, spring/fall tilling, and water.
- The number of plots available will be based on the number of responses. Success of this first year, will determine the number of plots that will be available next year.
- Plots will be offered on a first come first serve basis, with rental being offered 1st to returning gardeners for 2011.
This is a great gardening opportunity for those who have limited or no garden space available at their residence.
- Interested participants please contact me at: growingtogether@allsaintschurch.com.
I will be in contact with each person signing up for our All Saints garden to confirm each reservation and appoint a plot.
- All plot renters are required to have on file a signed waiver releasing All Saints of liabilities due to accident or injury.
- I would also like to ask for other volunteers to assist with the ‘organic’ questions and to help implement the possibility of other gardening ideas and address gardening issues of our gardeners for growing year 2011.
- Items that may be grown in the garden should be limited to low growing vegetables and flowers. If sweet corn or sunflowers are desired, they mustn’t block sunlight from the plot on either side. Please be mindful of vines such as cucumbers, squash and watermelon. These vines need room to grow.
- Only organic fertilizers are permitted in the garden (compost and dried manure) and no pesticides.
- Please bring your own garden tools to maintain your plot, and be willing to maintain and keep weeds on your plot to a minimum.
- Remember, gardening requires some maintenance. Please visit your garden at least once a week.
Let us reap our harvest with busy hands and happy hearts…..
See you in the garden!
