In light of heightened concerns about influenza, we want to be aware of precautions to avoid the spread of such infections.
Such concerns arise at liturgy relative to our sign of peace and the reception of Eucharist from the common cup.

We will continue both practices in the typical fashion. Anyone concerned about potential flu risks may choose to extend the sign of peace by making a bow of the head or some other gesture in place of shaking hands.

Christ is fully present in both forms at Communion, so it is never required to receive from the common cup.
