Students visit the library once a week. This is their opportunity to learn about library resources and develop and practice library skills. And of course, they may check out something to read!

  • Students in grades 1-5 are permitted to check out 2 materials on their library account.
  • Middle School students may check out 3 materials on their account.
  • Kinders may take one book each week, in addition to the D.E.A.R. book they receive each day in their classroom.
  • September Curriculum

We will review the library rules and procedures.  In addition we will review how to use the library computer programs.  Grades 3-8 will learn about the 2010/2011 Maud Hart Lovelace nominees.

The 2010 Maud Hart Lovelace winners are Champ by Marcia Thornton Jones for grades 3-5, and I'd Tell you I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You by Ally Carter for midle school.  To see the list of nominees for 2010/2011 Click Here.  Students are allowed to start reading these ver the summer.

The library was open most Sundays this past summer for AR testing.

Accelerated Reader ("AR")


The Accelerated Reader program is a supplement to the reading curriculum
at All Saints School. 

 Opportunities for Taking AR Tests

In addition to taking AR tests in their classrooms, students in grades 3-8 can take tests during the last 15 minutes of library time.  The Falcon's Nest also has a computer for AR testing.

Does this book have an AR test?

www.arbookfind.com is a site where you can check if a specific book has an AR test.  In addition you can do some advance searching to create lists of books that you might want to read that have AR tests available.

Parents:  You now have 2 ways to access the the AR program.  With this access, you can login to view reports about your student's testing and look at the complete list of AR titles. Click this LINK for further details. 
 

If you have difficulty locating a specific test on a book, please e-mail the librarian at mjohnson@allsaintschurch.com. Give Mrs.Johnson the exact title, author and if applicable a series name. She will e-mail the AR test number to you if she is able to locate a test.

AR Store

The 2010 AR Store was a huge success.  Thanks to the PTO and the Knights of Columbus for donating money for this event.  In addition, I would like to thank the AR Committee for all the help in planning, buying prizes, setting up, running and taking down the store.   I couldn't have had an AR Store without your support!
