the most moving experience you can have at church WCCO 4 News starts right now to serve the heart of the Midwest this is the hometown team WCCO 4 News hello I'm Jim King thanks for joining us many small towns in the Midwest thrived and then died sometimes the church is all that's left but in Lakeville case a flood of people moving to the suburbs has swamp the small Town forcing members of a historic church to leave for Higher Ground WCCO croissants and shows us today's moving experience mass at All Saints Catholic Church which began like it does every Sunday with prayer and song but it ended quite differently you see this was the last Mass being celebrated at All Saints have a sad day for us each parishioner left the church carrying books gifts from The Altar and candles and then said their goodbyes to their old church is a time of sadness but also celebration led by father Tiffany they began their journey to their new place of worship but there's a lot of history there for an awful lot of people so hard to understand or fully comprehend how significant the pilgrimage is Bittersweet for many parishioners but they know they've outgrown their old church but I'm sure we will enjoy the new home on the hill The Church on the Hill is a new home for a rapidly growing parish for Elaine Donnelly the land of sits on signifies a part of her family's history alone. It says 79 so I mean really and farmed it so it's a piece that feels like it's a piece of my family up here on the more than 2,000 people will fill up these q's and Sundays to come as prisoners look at their new surroundings father Tiffany looks on with pride greatest Delight is to to be able to step back and look at all the people that came up here today and just watch them and watch their faces I take great pride in and what's going to be there and their future home was built in 1932 it will be used for classes at the adjoining Catholic School official dedication of the new church will be next Sunday with the Archbishop Harry Flynn presenting
