Deacon Jim Marschall

Greetings and may God’s peace be with you.
Brief Bio
I was born and raised in Hastings, MN. I attended high school and junior college at Crosier Seminary in Onamia, and finished college at St. John’s University in Collegeville (Go Johnnies!). After two years serving in parish youth ministry, I joined my father and brother in the family business. Marschall Line, Inc. is the transportation contractor for Farmington Schools. That same year, Jennifer and I were married. We have two young adult daughters. Also, that same year, we joined All Saints which has been our parish home ever since. After we sold the family business, I continued working for the new ownership. This began a time of significant discernment for Jennifer and me regarding the permanent diaconate and full-time ministry. I was ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis by Archbishop Harry J. Flynn in September of 1999. I was assigned to All Saints, and have served here ever since. In 2001, in response to “an offer I could not refuse” from then pastor Fr. Eugene Tiffany, I accepted a full-time staff position in Pastoral Care and Justice & Service. It is a privilege to serve God’s people at All Saints. I am truly blessed to be able to say that I believe I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing exactly where I am doing it. Praise God!
Interesting Facts
In my 56 years, I have never lived outside of Minnesota. However, from time to time between November and March, I will find myself thinking about moving to Hawaii.
