Instrumentalists can play a unique role in assisting the congregation to sing at Mass. Like the organ, wind and string instruments are especially well suited to supporting congregational singing because of their ability for sustaining sound. There are many opportunities for instrumentalists to serve in music ministry at All Saints, from playing flute or clarinet at a typical Sunday Mass, playing in a brass ensemble for Christmas and Easter, or playing guitar or bass with a band. The very exposed nature of playing an instrument at Mass requires that players have a strong sense of rhythm and intonation.
Interested instrumentalists are invited to audition. Brass players are always needed for Christmas and Easter, and we have a current need for guitarists and bass players at the 11:00am Mass on Sundays.
