Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) assist in the distribution of communion when large numbers or other pastoral considerations warrant.
As ministers of holy communion, we bring the true presence of Jesus Christ to His people. Serving in this way implies a personal commitment to the Eucharist which includes weekly attendance at Sunday Mass.
This ministry is open to adults and youth who have celebrated Confirmation, and who are free of any impediments to participating in the sacramental life of the Church.
Extraordinary Ministers may also assist in bringing Communion to the sick.
